Be part of our community build and join us in creating a giant alebrije, a mystical and whimsical creature from Mexican pop culture to be displayed on our Dia de Muertos event on Nov. 8th.
Alebrijes are vibrant, fantastical sculptures, often depicting imaginary creatures, that are a unique form of Mexican folk art. Originating in Mexico City, they are known for their bright colors and intricate patterns, combining elements from different animals and even objects built using Papier-mâché techniques.
The East Las Vegas Library community will be building a giant alebrije to display during our Dia de Muertos event on November 8th from 11-4pm. If you interested in being part of this community of volunteers please come join us and learn all about the alebrije making process. Questions? Please reach out to us at 702.507.3533
