In this class, youth will learn basic hand-sewing stitches and will make their own sewing creations. Get creative and have fun learning a practical life skill. Ages 9-17 are welcomed to participate.
In this class, attendees will learn basic hand-sewing stitches and will make their own sewing creations. From learning to sew on a button to making their own sewing projects to take home, students will learn the basics of materials and skills needed to kick-start their sewing interests. Attendees will also learn how to use a sewing machine and complete their own project at the end.
Goals:
- Increase knowledge of the importance of sewing skills and talents.
- Develop sewing skills on a variety of stitches, patterns, button applications, & closures.
- Apply gained knowledge to execute beginner sewing projects from start to finish.

The Windmill Library opened in May 2011 in the southwest part of Las Vegas. This 30,693-square-foot, energy efficient location was built using sustainable design and construction practices, houses over 95,700 volumes, and features a 300-seat auditorium. The adjacent Service Center houses the Library District’s administrative offices, support functions, and processing center.
