To document the rarely explored underwater worlds of the Amazon, Peschak spent 396 days crossing the world?s largest river basin, from its icy headwaters at 20,000 feet in the Andes mountains all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. As part of the National Geographic and Rolex Perpetual Planet Amazon Expedition, Peschak blended his expertise as a marine biologist with his passion for photojournalism, documenting the river's wonders and challenges.
Hear firsthand about his incredible encounters with pink dolphins, packs of giant otters, electric eels, stealthy caiman, and the critical conservation issues facing this vital ecosystem.

The Windmill Library opened in May 2011 in the southwest part of Las Vegas. This 30,693-square-foot, energy efficient location was built using sustainable design and construction practices, houses over 95,700 volumes, and features a 300-seat auditorium. The adjacent Service Center houses the Library District’s administrative offices, support functions, and processing center.
