This session is designed for adult learners who may be balancing work, family, and life's many responsibilities while considering higher education. We'll discuss overcoming common fears, effective study habits, time management, and practical ways to make college fit into a busy life.
We'll also explore financial aid basics, scholarships, grants, and resources that can help make college more affordable.
Participants will learn:
Study strategies for adult learners
Time management techniques
Building confidence as a returning student
Financial aid basics
Resources available to help students succeed
About the Presenter:
Carla Smith is the Director of Student Financial Services at Laurus College and has spent more than 20 years helping individuals achieve their educational and career goals. Throughout her career, she has worked in admissions, financial aid, career development, leadership, and community outreach. Carla is passionate about empowering others through education and enjoys presenting practical, engaging workshops that provide attendees with real-world skills they can use immediately.

Designed by HAS Architects, the Rainbow Library originally opened as a storefront in 1985. In March 1994, the library moved to its present 26,800-square-foot facility. Located northwest in the city, just off I-95, this location serves its active residents with over 70,300 volumes and features an outdoor amphitheater.
