Looking for something fun to do during spring break?

Looking for something fun to do during spring break?  Come to the library and learn the art of candle making. We will roll out our own candle using natural beeswax sheets. Participants will make and take-home two beeswax candles. Registration is required and begins online on Saturday, March 2.  All participants must be ages 12 to 17.  Call 702.507.3644 for more information.

About the branch

One of the Library District’s largest branches at 122,000-square-feet, the Sahara West Library opened in January 1997 under the architectural design of Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd of Minneapolis and local architectural firm, Tate & Snyder. This location serves residents with its 159,000 volumes, has two art galleries, and features an EmployNV Business Hub, which provides resources for employers to recover and grow their businesses.

Join us for a Movie Matinee at the library! All kid's movies are rated G or PG. Intended for children ages 0-17 and their caregivers. (Adults must be accompanied by a child.) What makes a sensory sensitive environment unique? The window shades allow some light into the room, so it is not as dark.The sound is lowered, so it is not overwhelming.Tables are set up, so coloring or playing with fidget toys is encouraged.The room doors are open, so it does not feel closed in, and everyone can come and go as desired.Families can bring in food/drinks to eat at the tables.
