Guitarist, harp-guitarist and composer Muriel Anderson embraces music from all over the world with a sense of grace, joy, and gentle humor.
If you're not already familiar with Muriel, you will find yourself smiling when you feel the joy of her music shining through a stunning array of styles. Muriel's multimedia concert brings you on a planetary tour of tastes, images, and music with a backdrop of stunning visuals by photo-artist Bryan Allen. Muriel is the first woman to have won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. Her CD, "Nightlight Daylight," was chosen as one of the top 10 CDs of the decade by Guitar Player Magazine, and her "Heartstrings" recording accompanied the astronauts on the space shuttle. Among those she has performed/recorded with are Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Victor Wooten, Tommy Emmanuel and the Nashville Chamber Orchestra. She was also named one of the top 50 acoustic guitarists of all time by Guitar Player Magazine.

Originally operating out of a storefront on Brush Street, the West Charleston Library opened in its current location in January 1993. This 38,900-square-foot building is located on the northeast corner of the College of Southern Nevada’s Charleston Campus. This location, which features a Digital Memory Preservation Lab, serves its student population and residents with over 67,000 volumes and features a 276-seat lecture hall.
