Pick up a copy of our current read, then join fellow literary lovers for a fun discussion. This meeting's book title is The Firekeeper's Daughter for Native American Heritage Month.
The Afterthoughts Book Club started in 2019 as a way to gather literary lovers together and read titles we may not have opted to pick up before! Leaning into more of an exploratory manner, the Afterthoughts then looked to reading titles set elsewhere and written by authors who are from or live in these areas to bring a more authentic look into the daily lives of our characters.
Book club titles may be based on diversity months celebrated by the Library District and other diversity dates, but also alternate with BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) events and sometimes lighter reads, as some of our picks can be emotionally heavy.
We meet every two weeks to discuss the book selection, sometimes delaying titles if they are thicker tomes. You can see our past reads here:
Registration for attendance is not necessary, though space is based on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited. Call us for additional information or to get on the request list for the next book title at 702.879.3845!

Combined with the Senior Center, the Indian Springs Library opened in its current facility in February 1987. This 1,200-square-foot library houses over 4,800 volumes and serves nearly 1,000 residents, most of which are military personnel and their families from the Nevada Test Site and Training Range.
