Have you ever wanted to communicate better with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing members of our community? Or maybe you just want to learn and practice American Sign language which is the third most used language in the US, after English and Spanish,* for fun?
Come join us every second Friday of the month for a chance to gain vocabulary and practice signing in a fun, welcoming environment. All skill levels are welcome! Each month we will learn some new words, practice our finger-spelling, and try to compose sentences and communicate ideas in ASL. Our staff are still beginners, so we will probably make mistakes - we invite you to come make mistakes with us, so we can all learn together!
The event is free and open to the public. Seating may be limited and is first-come, first-served. This event takes place after library hours and library services may not be available during this time.

Buried in snow in the winter and cool during the hot days of summer, the Mount Charleston Library is located in Old Town, about 40 miles north of Las Vegas at an elevation of 7,200-feet. Opened in March 1987, the 2,800-square-foot facility houses 5,500 volumes and serves the beautiful community that surrounds it.
