Francisco Silva's mother introduced him to the night sky when he was about 6 years old. At 14, he got his first telescope, which is when he fell in love with the Astronomy. Since 2018, he has had the privilege of being the Vice President for Outreach for the Las Vegas Astronomical Society.

The Bunkerville Library first opened in 1968 in a portion of the old school gym and was newly renovated in 2018. Now housed in the Bunkerville Community Center with the Parks and Recreation Department, this 1,200-square-foot library serves the residents of Mesquite and Bunkerville with nearly 9,000 volumes.
