But this event is more than a visual spectacle—it is a peek behind the camera lens into storytelling that changes the world. Steve Winter and Sharon Guynup are an award-winning storytelling duo, National Geographic Explorers, and conservation pioneers. Together, they combine world-class wildlife photography with hard-hitting investigative journalism to illuminate the lives of endangered species and combat wildlife crime. Co-recipients of the National Geographic Society's Eliza Scidmore Award for Outstanding Storytelling, their collaborative work—including the groundbreaking books Tigers Forever and Big Cats—has directly influenced global environmental policy, shut down illegal trafficking operations, and inspired millions to protect the planet’s most vulnerable creatures.

Opened in August 1993, the Summerlin Library is located on six-acres of donated land by the Howard Hughes Corporation. This 40,165-square-foot library houses 59,200 volumes and features a 291-seat proscenium theater complete with an orchestra pit and fly loft.
