RESET with Monica
Recognize a Seizure. Know What to Do
Sunday, November 01
3:00pm - 6:00pm
West Las Vegas Library
Technology Area/Flex Space - Room 215Recognize warning signs and have the confidence to handle an epilepsy emergency.
Kick off National Epilepsy Awareness Month with RESET with Monica, an interactive community program that goes beyond basic seizure first aid to provide a deeper understanding of seizures, epilepsy, and the person behind the diagnosis. Seizures can happen for many reasons and are not limited to people diagnosed with epilepsy, making seizure recognition and response valuable knowledge for everyone.
Drawing from more than 40 years of lived experience with epilepsy, Monica Lopez-Morales shares how to recognize different types of seizures, respond safely, know when to call 911, and better understand the often-overlooked impact epilepsy can have on mental health and everyday life.
We'll also break down common myths and misconceptions and create an open space for questions. Whether you're a parent, caregiver, educator, or community member, you'll leave better informed and more confident about how to respond to and support someone experiencing a seizure.
Free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and may be limited. For more information, please call 702.507.3982

The West Las Vegas Library opened originally as a storefront on “D” Street in 1973, and later growing to a 16,000+ square-foot, stand-alone branch on West Lake Mead Boulevard in 1989, the new location on North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard reflects another important milestone in the Library District’s service to this neighborhood. Spanning two stories at 41,000+ square feet, the library’s spectacular new home is more than double the size of its predecessor. In addition to offering an Event Center, 3D Printing Lab, the Historical African American Collection, and Digital Memories Preservation Lab, this 41,000-square-foot library houses an all-new collection of 60,000 volumes.
