The Polish American Social Club of Las Vegas presents the Cracow Duo with Jan Kalinowski on Cello and Marek Szlezer on Piano.
Cellist Jan Kalinowski and pianist Marek Szlezer studied together in Cracow and Paris and began to perform together as Cracow Duo over twenty years ago. They share a special commitment and fascination with music written by rarely performed Polish composers. Among their many programs, the Cracow Duo frequently presents compositions for cello and piano by Fryderyk Chopin, Aleksander Tansman, Karol Szymanowski, Zygmunt Stojowski, Szymon Laks, Ludomir Rozycki and Tadeusz Majerski, as well as works by contemporary Polish and foreign composers written specially for them.

Originally operating out of a storefront on Brush Street, the West Charleston Library opened in its current location in January 1993. This 38,900-square-foot building is located on the northeast corner of the College of Southern Nevada’s Charleston Campus. This location, which features a Digital Memory Preservation Lab, serves its student population and residents with over 67,000 volumes and features a 276-seat lecture hall.
