A Public Fit Theatre Company (APF) continue their 2025-2026 season with a staged reading of Octavio Solis' "Mother Road," directed by Gigi Guizado.
William Joad is dying. In his quest to connect with his only living heir, he embarks on an epic - and familiar - cross-country journey: traveling from California back to his family farm in Oklahoma. Octavio Solis’ Mother Road is a mythic, no-holds-barred sequel to Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, where destiny and legacy collide in a modern era decades removed from the dustbowl of the 1930s. A contemporary fable about inclusion, exclusion, and the difficult necessity of healing, Solis has crafted a poetic reckoning with a true American classic.
Following the staged reading, APF artists will continue the conversation with The Buzzz, an interactive discussion between the production cast/crew and the audience.
