Native Voices Children's Story Hour
with Asdzaa Yoolta
Tuesday, November 03
11:00am - 11:30am
Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with a welcoming children's story hour featuring books written by Native authors read by Little Cat. For children ages 3 to 12.
Little Cat is one of the founders of Asdzáá Yoólta (Navajo for Women Reading), an Indigenous-authored book club based in Las Vegas. They are passionate about bringing Indigenous stories, literature and voices into spaces where children and families can discover, enjoy, and connect with books.
Through engaging read-alouds, children will explore stories that highlight Native cultures, traditions, values, and contemporary voices. The goal is to encourage cultural understanding and a love of reading through books by Native authors.
This program is free and open to the public. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and may be limited. For more information, please call 702.507.4301.

The Blue Diamond Library was opened in 1970 in a small trailer purchased with a Federal Library Grant. In 1989, a local Blue Diamond resident began construction on a new 1,000-square-foot library, which opened in 1992. It now houses over 5,000 volumes and serves the 200 residents of Blue Diamond and Red Rock Township.
