Join us from September 11 to October 29 for Eating Smart • Being Active (ESBA), a free, hands-on nutrition program for adults who want to eat healthier, save money, and feel better every day.
Through eight interactive 90-minute sessions, participants will learn how to plan balanced, budget-friendly meals, read nutrition labels, prepare safe and tasty meals, and add easy physical activity to daily routines. Lessons are family-friendly, practical, and focused on healthy habits you can keep for life.
This program has been proven to help participants eat more fruits and vegetables, improve food safety at home, manage food resources effectively, and move more each day.
Participants are encouraged to attend the full series to gain the most benefit, as each lesson builds on the previous one. Free take-home items will be provided at every class, and participants who attend at least 6 of the 8 lessons will receive a graduation certificate. Classes will be offered in English.
Due to limited space, we kindly encourage participants to arrive on time. To help maintain a quality learning experience for everyone, late entry may be limited after the first 15 minutes of the program. We truly appreciate your understanding, punctuality, and participation!
Please RSVP so we can have enough supplies for everyone: mmurrieta@unr.edu

Originally opening in 1966 as a three-room library within the Airport Annex building, the Clark County Library moved in 1967 to a storefront. In 1971, the library moved again to its current location using deeded land from the County and with money awarded by the Max C. Fleishman Foundation. The building went on to have two remodels: one completed in 1986, and the second completed in 1994, which resulted in the three-story, 120,000-square-foot building it is today. This redesign notably included a 399-seat theater and an 80-seat black box theater/dance studio. The Library District also added the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, which provides a place for teens to explore and master new technologies and digital skills.
