It's easy to talk about your life, but how can you write about it? In this workshop, author Reannon Muth will examine the process of turning your experiences into a memoir that reads like a novel.
There are some concepts to remember when writing a memoir that people will want to read: 1) find your theme and focus, 2) gather memories into an outline, 3) treat the people in your memoir like characters in a novel, 4) be honest & reflective, and 5) plan to do lots of editing. Memoir author Reannon Muth ("Unattached - A Year of Heartache," "Hiking and Learning How to Love") will discuss these concepts and how personality may affect your writing, turning the principles you discovered during your life into something believable and relatable to the reader, and how journaling & blogging can lead to writing an engaging novel-like memoir that readers will enjoy. Books by Reannon will be available for purchase and signing after the presentation.

Originally opening in 1966 as a three-room library within the Airport Annex building, the Clark County Library moved in 1967 to a storefront. In 1971, the library moved again to its current location using deeded land from the County and with money awarded by the Max C. Fleishman Foundation. The building went on to have two remodels: one completed in 1986, and the second completed in 1994, which resulted in the three-story, 120,000-square-foot building it is today. This redesign notably included a 399-seat theater and an 80-seat black box theater/dance studio. The Library District also added the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, which provides a place for teens to explore and master new technologies and digital skills.
