Visiting professor at UNLV, discusses how geology impacts our everyday lives.
In celebration of Earth Month, join Thomas Boes to learn about Geology and Mining in Nevada, along with its role in climate change mitigation that impacts Nevadans. The presentation includes an overview of Economic Geology and Geoscience for the Future. Also featured is a geologic map of Nevada, along with a collection of mineral, rock, and fossil samples from the state.

The Windmill Library opened in May 2011 in the southwest part of Las Vegas. This 30,693-square-foot, energy efficient location was built using sustainable design and construction practices, houses over 95,700 volumes, and features a 300-seat auditorium. The adjacent Service Center houses the Library District’s administrative offices, support functions, and processing center.
