We are kicking off Clark County Green Week by celebrating Earth Day! Join us as we create flower lamps and talk about the importance of connecting with nature.
Embarking on a vibrant journey to celebrate the spirit of Earth Day and kick off the first annual Clark County Green Week, we invite teens to immerse themselves in a dynamic evening filled with creativity, inspiration, and meaningful conversations centered around our planet's well-being.
The highlight of the event lies in the hands-on activity of crafting captivating flower lamps, where participants will channel their artistic flair to construct pipe cleaner flower luminaries with beautiful blooms. Through this engaging DIY project, attendees will not only explore their imaginative side but also gain invaluable insights into sustainable crafting practices, fostering a deeper appreciation for nature's gifts.
In recognition of the importance of balancing our digital lives with the wonders of the natural world, the evening will feature a special "Tech Break" from 6-7pm. During this time, attendees will disconnect from screens and immerse themselves in the serene ambiance of our surroundings, fostering a sense of mindfulness and reconnection with the Earth.
Supplies are limited. Reservations are required. One flower lamp per teen. Teens must be aged 12-17.
The event will be in the Best Buy Teen Tech Center located on the main level.

Originally opening in 1966 as a three-room library within the Airport Annex building, the Clark County Library moved in 1967 to a storefront. In 1971, the library moved again to its current location using deeded land from the County and with money awarded by the Max C. Fleishman Foundation. The building went on to have two remodels: one completed in 1986, and the second completed in 1994, which resulted in the three-story, 120,000-square-foot building it is today. This redesign notably included a 399-seat theater and an 80-seat black box theater/dance studio. The Library District also added the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, which provides a place for teens to explore and master new technologies and digital skills.
