Mindful Monday
Black Out Poetry
Monday, July 06
3:00pm - 5:00pm
Upcycle old books with us by turning them into poetic works of art.
What is Mindful Monday? Kick off your week with a vibe check. Mindful Monday is a chill space to breathe, destress, and make cool stuff that actually means something. Think quick mindfulness moments, creative projects with purpose, and a chance to slow down when life feels loud. Show up. Tune in. Feel better walking out than you did walking in.
This week's activity: Black Out Poetry
Teens explore poetry in a whole new way by transforming printed pages into striking visual poems. Grab a marker, blackout what you don’t need, and let the story underneath come alive. All materials will be provided.
For teens ages 12-17, located in the Flamingo Teen Lab on the main floor.
Supplies are limited and on a first come, first served basis.
Teens may be asked to show student I.D.

Originally opening in 1966 as a three-room library within the Airport Annex building, the Clark County Library moved in 1967 to a storefront. In 1971, the library moved again to its current location using deeded land from the County and with money awarded by the Max C. Fleishman Foundation. The building went on to have two remodels: one completed in 1986, and the second completed in 1994, which resulted in the three-story, 120,000-square-foot building it is today. This redesign notably included a 399-seat theater and an 80-seat black box theater/dance studio. The Library District also added the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, which provides a place for teens to explore and master new technologies and digital skills.
