RTC will be here to demonstrate how easy, affordable and safe riding can be for older adults. Eligible seniors can sign up for a free reduced-fare ID card and check out the RTC bus!
Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) offers free on-site training for older adults who are interested in maintaining their independence by using the fixed-route city buses. The presentation includes information about the fixed route transit services, how to use the transit guide, how to route your trip using the pocket guide and RTC mobile app, finding the closest bus stop to your home & destination, how to use the fare box and request your stop, and how to safely enter and exit the bus with a mobility device. Hop on the RTC training bus parked outside the library to take a closer look. All eligible seniors attending the presentation may sign up for a free reduced fare ID card and receive a free transit guide & pocket map. Complimentary refreshments will be served while supplies last, provided in partnership with RTC.

Originally opening in 1966 as a three-room library within the Airport Annex building, the Clark County Library moved in 1967 to a storefront. In 1971, the library moved again to its current location using deeded land from the County and with money awarded by the Max C. Fleishman Foundation. The building went on to have two remodels: one completed in 1986, and the second completed in 1994, which resulted in the three-story, 120,000-square-foot building it is today. This redesign notably included a 399-seat theater and an 80-seat black box theater/dance studio. The Library District also added the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, which provides a place for teens to explore and master new technologies and digital skills.
