More Than Just Garnish!
Thursday, September 18
12:00pm - 1:00pm
Windmill Library
Meeting RoomJoin us for a fun and informative workshop where you'll learn how to grow, care for, and use common culinary herbs grown right here in the desert.
People may tell you that you cannot grow herbs in Las Vegas. Here is the honest truth - yes, you can!
Glenda Bona, a Master Gardener with The University of Nevada, Reno Extension will prove it by showing their successes, failures, and new ideas for dealing with the climate in the Mojave Desert. Get ideas for creating spaces that will work at your home and in our climate.
But don’t stop there. What will you do with the herbs you grow? Learn ways to use fresh herbs and ways to preserve them for enhanced well-being.
Free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served, and may be limited.
