Come and enjoy the thunderous Japanese art form known as taiko! Join Korabo Taiko as they celebrate their 15th anniversary!
Korabo Taiko will perform a mix of traditional and modern pieces encompassing 15 years of performing in Las Vegas.
Many things have happened for Korabo since they started in 2010. In addition to teaching classes, Korabo is busy performing at festivals, parties, corporate events, and grand openings of major hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Korabo is proud to be the only Japanese drum group in Las Vegas to have featured children performers every year.
ABOUT US: Taiko is the iconic Japanese drum Korabo started on October 10, 2010 with six individuals who shared a dream about creating the first Japanese drum business in Las Vegas. It started with building drums out of recycled wine barrels and teaching classes once a week, but it quickly evolved into collaborations with businesses and groups like Fuku Burger, Na Hula Hali'a Aloha, Tendo Baikoki, and Rau Tama Nui. Korabo was hired to perform at various local events throughout the years which grew to an impressive list of clients: Downtown Summerlin, UNLVino's Sake Fever, Morimoto, Resorts World, Fontainebleau, Cosmopolitan, Daikin, Little Caesars Corporation, Jim Beam/Suntory, Cirque du Soleil, and many more. Korabo's history of featuring children performers has been an unexpected joy. Many students started at the age of 8-years-old. In fact, one of those children is still performing with Korabo at 23-years-old. Currently, Gene Sugano is the only founder who remains, but continues to carry the torch to honor the hard work and dedication the other founders made to create the group. Korabo continues to teach classes 3 times a week and is open to anyone interested in learning taiko. For more information, e-mail info@korabotaiko.com
