Grades K-5 can celebrate Black History Month by learning about about the artist and author Faith Ringgold, reading her book "Tar Beach" and making a paper story quilt collage about our own dreams.
Kids in grades K-5 are invited to celebrate Black History Month in the Teen Zone. Join us to learn about the artist and author Faith Ringgold. We will talk about how her family history, the civil rights movement and African culture inspired her art. After learning about her art and life, we will read her book “Tar Beach” and make a paper story quilt collage about our own dreams.
