Practically all of us will be renters at some point, but almost none of us know even basic information about a tenant’s rights and the laws that protect us. This presention from the Consumer Rights Project at Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada will go over the life of a tenancy from beginning to end and give you the tools you need to protect yourself. Topics will include:
Issues you might face when looking for a new apartment, such as signing a lease and paying a security deposit
Problems that can arise after you move in, like getting repairs made or needing to terminate a lease early
Legal issues that happen at move out, including fighting an eviction and getting a security deposit back

The West Las Vegas Library opened to the Historic Westside Neighborhood on D Street in 1973 before moving to its current location on Lake Mead Boulevard in January 1989. In addition to offering a 298-seat theater, the African American Special Collection, and a state-of-the-art robot lab, this 38,900-square-foot library houses 27,700 volumes and has become a prominent part of the community.
