Commemorate Russian Unity Day during this presentation by accomplished screenwriter Anthony Maldonado, to include historical images, an informational lecture and live musical interludes.
Learn about the history of the Romanov Dynasty and the love story between Czar Nicholas II and his consort, Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna. The two never wavered from their devotion and love for one another and Russia, as documented in historical testimonies. The presentation will include Tchaikovsky’s chamber music performed live by a string quartet.
The Romanov family was the last imperial dynasty to rule Russia. They first came to power in 1613, and over the next three centuries, 18 Romanovs took the Russian throne, including Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, Alexander I and Nicholas II. During the Russian Revolution of 1917, Bolshevik revolutionaries toppled the monarchy, ending the Romanov dynasty.
Free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and may be limited.
