Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month during this interactive and educational drum demonstration and performance presented by Las Vegas Kaminari Taiko!
Las Vegas Kaminari Taiko blends the traditional roots of taiko with modern flavor and influence. During this program, audience members will learn about the history and meaning of the drums during an interactive drum demonstration, followed by an earthshaking drum performance mixing traditional folkloric songs, contemporary pieces and original compositions.
Founded in 1993, this local Japanese-American performance team was named LV Kaminari Taiko because of its impressive thunderous sounds. They have performed at schools, conventions, casinos, and community festivals throughout the valley. Director Jennifer Caballero leads the group.
